Student answer (Band 5.5)
The use of science extended to every aspect of our life to make it more convenint, while finding new habitable planets for humanity. It is argued that the most important purpose of science should be to improve people's life. I believe that science has already done a lot for making people's live hassel free, now it should be used for the goals like finding a new planet for humans and how we can reach there.
Firstly, many inventions that are serving people in their daily life like refrigerator, microwave oven and washing machine. Thus, science should be used for the space exploration to find new habitable planets, where it is possible for humans to live and to invent necessary equipments for that environment. For instance, in 2019, scientsts discover a planet 2 light years from Earth and they are very optimistic that it will be habitable. So, science's aim should be to search way how humans can live there.
Secondly, there is currently no vehicle that can travel at the speed of light. To illustrate my point, science should work on this to make a fastest space vehicle that help humanity to travel from Earth to their destination. There are many intelligent minds working on it.
In conclusion, as i mentioned in earlier science should find new planets for humans and the way to reach there it could be done by making vehicle that can travel at fast speed. Moreover, the main thing is that the necessary tools and devices that are necessary to survive there should be the aim of science.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a position: science has improved daily life, but should now focus on finding habitable planets and enabling people to reach and survive on them. This is relevant to the topic, and the examples of household appliances and space travel help illustrate your view. However, the response only partially addresses the central question because it does not explain why improving people’s lives should—or should not—remain science’s most important aim. The shift from everyday benefits to planetary exploration is asserted rather than justified, and the claim about a newly discovered planet is not clearly connected to how this would improve lives. Develop the comparison and explain the human benefits of your proposed priorities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the structure easy to follow. The main progression, however, is not fully clear: the first body paragraph moves from household inventions to planet discovery, while the second introduces faster travel without explaining how it connects to the first point. The conclusion repeats the proposal rather than drawing together the reasoning. Some links are also awkward or unclear, as in “science should work on this” and “the way to reach there.” Give each paragraph one developed central idea, use clearer references, and add transitions that show how the ideas support your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use topic-related vocabulary such as “space exploration,” “habitable planets,” “humanity” and “survive,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some attempt at less common phrasing, including “necessary tools and devices.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, such as “people’s live,” “hassel free,” “search way” and “travel at fast speed.” Spelling errors, including “convenint,” “scientsts” and “equipments,” are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully; for example, use “quality of life” and “a way to reach the planet.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “planets, where it is possible for humans to live” and a purpose clause beginning “to make a fastest space vehicle.” However, errors occur frequently, and some sentences are incomplete or difficult to interpret. “Firstly, many inventions that are serving people in their daily life…” is a fragment, while “a fastest space vehicle that help humanity” has problems with article use and subject–verb agreement. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and the final sentence contains an unclear construction: “the necessary tools and devices that are necessary…should be the aim.” Practise complete sentence patterns, agreement, articles and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
