Student answer (Band 5.5)
The life we are living today is easy due to advancements and innovations in the field of science and technology. I strongly agree to this opinion that science is struggling to make our life easier, improve our life and update our lifestyle.I can prove it by the help of some examples. Advancements in science could help in the field of production and increase the yield.Science has many uses in our daily life. It helps us in medicine, education, communication, transportation, agriculture, and technology. With the help of science, doctors can treat diseases, students can learn through computers and the internet, and people can travel quickly by cars, trains, and airplanes. Science also provides electricity and makes our daily tasks easier. Therefore, science is very useful and plays an important role in the progress of humanity. In the field of technology, Mobile phones have made communication process easy and accessible. It helped the students in studies and also the teachers to learn how to teach the students effectively. The field Business have also improved to much extent.
But I aslo disagree it to some extent . Science has made some things that donot work for the welfare of humankind. Thay are made for deterioration and destruction. For instance, deadly weapons are made for safeguard, but they are spreading a great chais in many parts of world.
In conclusion, science is good and very important for human life. It has made our lives easier through technology, medicine, transportation, and communication. However, science can be harmful if it is misused, such as for creating dangerous weapons or harming the environment. Therefore, science itself is neither good nor bad; its impact depends on how humans use it. We should use science responsibly for the betterment of humanity.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear overall: you agree that science should improve lives, while acknowledging that it can also be harmful when misused. The examples of medicine, education, transport and communication are relevant, and the weapons example introduces a useful qualification. However, the response only partly develops the central question of what science’s *most important aim* should be. Much of the first section lists benefits rather than explaining why improving lives should take priority over other scientific aims, and the point about business is not explained. The contrast about weapons is also brief. To strengthen the response, explain your reasoning more fully and support each main point with a specific example and its relevance to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: it introduces your view, presents benefits, adds a counterpoint, and concludes with a balanced position. The examples are generally grouped by topic, and phrases such as “However” and “In conclusion” help signal shifts. However, progression within the main discussion is limited: several benefits are listed in succession without clear development, and the transition from technology and business to the harms of science is abrupt. Some connections between sentences are also unclear, particularly “It helped the students in studies” after the reference to mobile phones. Use separate, focused body paragraphs, with a clear topic sentence and explanation in each, and make references explicit so readers can follow how each example supports your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “advancements,” “yield,” “communication,” “transportation,” “deterioration,” and “welfare of humankind.” This allows you to discuss several relevant areas, but word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “science is struggling to make our life easier” does not express your intended positive claim, while “spreading a great chais” appears to mean causing chaos. There are also spelling errors such as “aslo,” “donot,” and “Thay.” Aim for more precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Replacing broad or awkward expressions with accurate academic collocations would make your argument clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including “With the help of science, doctors can treat diseases, students can learn through computers and the internet, and people can travel quickly…” This shows some ability to connect related ideas, and the main message is generally understandable. However, control is uneven, particularly in longer constructions. For example, “I strongly agree to this opinion that…” has an awkward grammatical pattern, and “The field Business have also improved” has problems with article use and subject–verb agreement. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, as in “lifestyle.I” and “extent .” Practise accurate sentence patterns and check agreement, articles, and punctuation; clearer sentence boundaries will help your ideas read more smoothly.
