Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you agree that science should improve people’s lives, and you support this with relevant examples from healthcare and transportation. The healthcare paragraph explains how diagnosis and treatment can save lives, while the transportation paragraph links travel and trade with access to goods. This addresses the task, but the response focuses mainly on benefits and does not fully explain why improving lives should be science’s most important aim, rather than one aim among others. Some claims, such as “the stone age ended due to science,” are broad and need clearer explanation or evidence. Develop the reasoning behind each example and connect it more explicitly to your central position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs on different fields, and a concluding statement. This gives the reader a basic route through your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the transportation section, where travel, goods, and people’s earlier dependence on local resources are linked without clear explanation. Connectors such as “At first,” “Beyound,” and “Overall” help signal stages, but some transitions feel mechanical or do not accurately express the relationship between ideas. References such as “this way” and “it” are also unclear in places. Use topic sentences and more precise linking and referencing to make each point build logically on the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “healthcare,” “treatment,” “technology,” and “transportation,” and you attempt to express ideas beyond everyday topics. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less clear. For example, “advance treatment” and “inner deseas” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “advanced treatments” and “internal diseases” or “conditions” would be clearer. There are also many spelling errors, including “acheivemnt,” “transpotation,” and “bigning,” which can slow the reader. Build a reliable set of topic-specific phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the examples without relying on repeated words such as “life” and “development.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “Before it such deseas were not detected at first satage and lead to a damage…” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. For example, “science play” should be “science plays,” and “The current development … are” needs agreement between the subject and verb. Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, as in the sentence beginning “Before it.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and divide long sentences into clear clauses. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your argument easier to read.
