Student answer (Band 5.0)

The most important aim of science should be to improve people’s lives.

It is often argued that the primary purpose of science should be to improve human life better. I completely agred with this view beacuse science should serve humanity and improving lives is most valuable contribution

The main reason to support this is the science has the power to solve the most critical problem faced by people For example , medical science has developed the vaccines, anibiotic and medical treatment that have saved millions of live and increase life expentancy During the COVID -19 is a panademic, it was scientific researcch the produced the antibiotic vaccenies in record time, without science focued human welfare .

After important reason of that science improve the quality of life . Techniolgy advanvcement such as electricity , as smart phone and modren transportation have made comunication , education and work nmuch eaiser and faster . For instance online education , platform which are prooduced of science , allowed the student continue studying during lockdown . COVID-19 which introduced the science purposed online work at home. These things are most benifits . the lead new technology that will be improve our lives in the future.

On the other hand, if science is use the harmful purpose foe technology developing or polluting envoriment.

In Conclusion I strongly agree that the most important aim of science should be improve people's lives Science technolgy is very important for human lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear position—“I completely agree”—and give relevant reasons, including medical advances and technology that supports education and communication. The vaccine example is pertinent, but its explanation is difficult to follow, and the point about online learning and working from home is repeated rather than developed with clear supporting detail. The opposing point about harmful uses of science is only a fragment, so it does not meaningfully qualify or strengthen your argument. The response also contains 223 words, below the required 250; 21 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with a specific explanation or example, and complete the counterpoint before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic essay shape, with an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a brief opposing point, and a conclusion. The reader can identify the main direction of your argument, and phrases such as “For example” and “On the other hand” attempt to guide the discussion. However, progression is uneven: the second body paragraph moves from technology to online education and then to working from home without clearly connecting these points. The opposing paragraph is incomplete, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction. Some linking phrases are inaccurate or awkward, such as “After important reason of that.” Organise each paragraph around one fully explained idea and use clear references and transitions between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “medical science,” “vaccines,” “life expectancy,” “technology advancement,” and “online education.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both health and everyday benefits of science. However, the range is limited and many spelling errors or imprecise expressions make parts difficult to understand, for example “anibiotic,” “panademic,” “modren transportation,” and “These things are most benifits.” Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “improve human life better” and “science focused human welfare.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for explaining outcomes—such as “reduce disease,” “extend life expectancy,” or “expand access to education”—would help express your ideas clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “For example” and a conditional idea about harmful uses of science. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “the primary purpose of science should be to improve human life better” has an awkward structure, while “if science is use the harmful purpose” lacks a correct verb form and sentence completion. Several sentences run together without full stops, particularly in the medical-science paragraph. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “which,” or “although.” Proofread for complete sentences and consistent punctuation.
