Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response is connected to the topic, particularly through references to medicines, health checks, machinery and monitoring, and it gives some reasons why science could benefit people. However, it only minimally answers the central question: it does not clearly state how far you agree or disagree that improving lives should be science’s most important aim. The discussion also shifts towards government hiring and workplace management, without explaining how these points relate to science’s priorities. Ideas such as producing quality drugs are relevant but remain general and are not supported with a specific example or explanation of their impact. State your position directly, then develop two focused reasons with clear examples showing why improving lives should—or should not—take priority over other scientific aims.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two main sections and a concluding sentence, and phrases such as “before inventing” and “as regards to” signal relationships between ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because several different points—human resources, government roles, raw materials, machinery and employee monitoring—are combined without a clear central line of argument. The final sentence introduces “apex organization” and poor management but does not clearly conclude the discussion or restate a position. Some linking phrases are repeated, and references such as “these improve” and “it” are unclear. Use one paragraph for each main reason, connect each example explicitly to your argument, and finish with a concise conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “qualified professionals,” “raw materials,” “quality drugs,” “proper monitoring” and “solutions.” These choices show an attempt to discuss science and public health, but the range is basic and several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, which sometimes makes the intended meaning hard to identify. For example, “invention of human resources programs” does not clearly express a scientific aim, while “proper rood” appears to be an inaccurate word choice. Repetition of “proper,” “lives” and “improve” also limits precision. Build a more specific vocabulary for the topic—such as medical research, disease prevention and public health—and check collocations so that your wording communicates each idea clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer sentences, including the sentence beginning “before inventing in human resources,” and uses clauses to explain causes and purposes. However, control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur frequently and sometimes obscure meaning. Examples include “many sickness,” “the qualified professionals needs,” “government … has a roles,” and “because is not all about buying machines.” Several sentences run together, and punctuation does not reliably separate complete ideas. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “because,” “which” or “so that.” Check subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms during editing, and use full stops to make each point easier to follow.
