Student answer (Band 5.5)
Science plays an important role in country,s developing and in improving life styles in all over the world. The main and significant role of science should be to improve citizen,s life cycle and their work and provide comfort to them. I totally agree with the statement, i will discuss its details in the pargraphs below.
To commence, science have changed a lot of things. Firstly, science main aim should be to improve people,s life, the way how people live and build the things that are benificial for people,s life rather than making those things that are harmful for citizen,s life like science should make the factors like, in agriculture science should improve tools used for farming so, farmers can easily sow and bow their crops without any doing some piece of hardwork. Secoundly, from my opinion, science must work on some other things but its main goal is to provide benifits to people rather than making unnecessary things, for instances, there are lot of unnecessary buildings were built in our city to made it beautiful but there is no proper facility for taveling like roads are unpaved and people face a siginficant amount of time problems like reaching late on destinations people need comfort not beauty. Furthermore, nowadays every country,s professionls are trying to improve country,s defence system and making harmfull weapons for wars but science main goal is to provide comfort to citizens like improving meditation facilities so, people will able to save their own lives by taking proper corporate from machines made with the help of science.
To put it into a nutshell, the most significant goal of science it to provide ease to human being rather than hurting them by making unnecessary and harmful weapons.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: “I totally agree,” and the conclusion returns to the idea that science should improve people’s lives rather than harm them. You address the prompt with relevant examples, including better farming tools, transport infrastructure, and medical facilities. This gives the response a clear focus. However, some points are less fully developed than others: the discussion of attractive buildings and poor roads is not clearly connected to what science itself should prioritise, and the defence example shifts between weapons and medical care without explaining the contrast in depth. To strengthen the response, explain how each example demonstrates your central argument and develop the consequences for people’s lives more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a main paragraph, and a conclusion, and the ideas generally relate to your position. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secoundly,” and “Furthermore” help signal the order of points. However, the main paragraph contains several different examples in one long sequence, so the progression is sometimes difficult to follow. Some links are mechanical, and the relationship between the examples—especially buildings, roads, weapons, and medical facilities—is not always made explicit. Organise each main idea into a separate paragraph and use linking sentences to show how it supports your argument. Clearer referencing and more varied transitions would make the overall progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “agriculture,” “farming,” “defence system,” and “facilities,” and you attempt to express ideas about both benefits and harms. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For example, “life cycle” does not convey the intended meaning of quality of life, while “taking proper corporate from machines” is difficult to understand. Spelling errors such as “benificial,” “Secoundly,” and “siginficant” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations; choosing familiar, accurate expressions is more effective than using phrases whose meaning is unclear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “so” and “rather than,” and your overall meaning can usually be understood. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, particularly in the long sentence beginning “Firstly, science main aim…” Several errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction affect clarity. For instance, “science have changed” should use a singular verb, and “people will able to save” needs an auxiliary verb. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, as some ideas run together. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them with accurate subordinate clauses. This will help you show a wider range without losing control.
