Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that science should improve people’s lives, and you support this with examples involving medical research and technology. The discussion of medicines for cancer and heart disease is relevant and explains a direct benefit to human life. The technology paragraph also offers examples, including access to employment information and support for law enforcement. However, the connection between these examples and the claim that improving lives should be science’s most important aim is not always fully explained. The conclusion mainly repeats the idea that people should use technology appropriately, rather than weighing the central claim or summarising your reasons. Develop the less fully explained points and make the link to your position explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “First and foremost” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the main stages of your argument. Within paragraphs, however, several ideas are joined into long sentences, so the relationships between causes, examples, and results can become unclear. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from medicines to past deaths, population growth, and future disease prevention without clear sentence boundaries. Some linking is also mechanical, and the final sentence repeats “so” and “which” in a way that obscures the conclusion. Use shorter sentences to separate each supporting point and make references such as “this system” more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “medication,” “heart disease,” “search engine,” and “suspicious activity,” which helps communicate your examples. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “law enforcement agencies” and “population growth.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “reseraching,” “therories,” “serveral,” and “white callar” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “use it” when referring to science and “profitable information” for useful information. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, and choose precise terms for the ideas you intend to express.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “As” and “which,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. Some grammatical errors nevertheless make parts of the response difficult to follow. For example, “science plays an vital role in human's life it people makes are more independent themselves” contains problems with articles, sentence boundaries, and clause structure. There are also errors in agreement and verb forms, as in “which will helps them,” and the long sentence about medicines has several clauses without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and punctuation when joining independent clauses.
