Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a position—“I am accord with this notion”—and give two relevant areas, healthcare and education, so the response does address the topic. However, the argument is only minimally developed: the healthcare paragraph mentions skin care, cancer and chemotherapy without clearly explaining how these examples show that improving lives is science’s most important aim. The education paragraph mainly describes students’ choices and devices, rather than weighing science’s broader purpose. Your conclusion also introduces a concern about young people wasting time on phones, which is not connected to a clear final answer to the question. Develop a consistent degree of agreement and explain each example’s relevance to that position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To commence with” and “To illustrate it” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from skin problems to diseases and cancer without a clear sequence, while the second shifts from career choices to online learning and manufacturing. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, and the conclusion does not clearly draw together the main points. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, then explain and illustrate it in a logical order. Use transitions to show relationships between ideas rather than relying mainly on formulaic openings.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “health dilemma,” “electronic machines,” “chemotherapy” and “E learning,” which helps identify the intended subject matter. However, the range is limited and several choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “Citizens human survival,” “skin related problems like skin related,” and “most of spout E learning.” Repetition of “alot,” “gadgets” and “science” also restricts precision. These problems sometimes make it difficult to understand the intended point. Build a more reliable set of topic collocations and check that each phrase expresses a complete, natural meaning. For example, describe medical research and treatments directly, rather than using unclear or repeated wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the response is generally recognisable as an argument. However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes obscure meaning. Examples include “Science plays crucial role” (missing an article), “have being change life” (incorrect verb form), and “some disease have not medicine” (agreement and sentence structure). Several sentences lack clear boundaries or punctuation, such as “It is an argued issue. whether globalisation…” and the long sentence beginning “Furthermore, most of spout E learning…”. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms and complete sentence construction. Use shorter, controlled sentences first, then add complex clauses once their structure is secure.
