Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you largely agree that improving people’s lives should be science’s primary aim. You address both benefits and risks, using domestic automation and workplace tasks as examples, then noting that nuclear technology and chemicals can also threaten people. These points are relevant, and the conclusion returns to your central view. However, the benefits discussion is more developed than the risks, which are introduced briefly and not explained in detail. The example about laundry services is also difficult to follow, so its relevance is not fully clear. To strengthen the response, explain how each example demonstrates your argument and develop the risks with a specific, clearly connected point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on science’s benefits, a paragraph on potential harms, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a general path through your argument. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “As with day to day advancement” does not clearly introduce the point that follows, and “However also using science” makes the contrast difficult to track. The long benefits paragraph combines domestic and workplace examples without a clear transition, while several sentence fragments interrupt the flow. Use topic sentences to signal each paragraph’s main point, divide related examples into manageable sentences, and make contrast markers connect complete ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “automate,” “innovations,” “nuclear energy,” and “humanity,” and you distinguish between positive and negative effects. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand, as in “Enhancemnet,” “cahllenges,” “dometic,” and “poision.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “resolve energy crisses” and “lives of public.” These issues limit the precision of your argument even when the intended idea can be inferred. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases; for example, use “address energy shortages” and “improve people’s lives.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if the laundry services are washed” and a contrast between science’s benefits and risks. However, some sentence structures are incomplete or difficult to follow. “Science shall be focus on human life” is missing a grammatical form after “be,” while “which dont stree the individuals” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. There are also errors in agreement and verb forms, such as “life has became” and “individuals feels.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, particularly where several ideas run together. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement, and use full stops to separate distinct points.
