Student answer (Band 5.5)

The science important preferences should be to improve people lives. I completely partly agree with this statement because our first priority is improve peoples live for our future and also another side forests and animals, enivironment also our priority to improve, so we also improve this for better people lives.

Firstly, the aim of science is for our future to improve conditions is an important reason why i agree with this statement. This is because science can improve job oppurtunites for people survive also it gives money for survival. For example, bussiness, jobs, new science products. Moreover, in recent times science also improve health sectors for who problems with differeny diseases and gives numbe of tablets for people, which can result to solution of many ddeath cases. Therefore, the aim of science must improve for better society and future.

Secondly, science can look for environment, animals and forests is another sigificant factor. The main reason I partly disagree is that improving trees and protecting animals, these must be once look by science because if these improve first automatic improve peoples lives. For instance, global warming, not protect animals these can decrease some part of human lives. Furthermore, science must improve safety products or ideas, and this can lead to destory human lives for not safety imprroving ideas. Therefore, it is clear science not only improve people lives also environment, animals.

In conclusion, I partly agree that most important aim of science should be improve people lives. This is mainly because our priority not only improve people lives also improve forests and reduce pollution, protect animals and in recent times science improve so many oppurtunities for human jobs and healthe problems also invented better tablets and products, which can have a significant impact on people's lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the question and give a partly agreeing position, with relevant points about health, employment, the environment, forests and animals. The examples of science helping with diseases and the effects of global warming show an attempt to support your view. However, the position is not fully clear: the opening says “completely partly agree,” and the essay does not explain precisely how protecting nature should rank alongside improving people’s lives. Several points, such as “new science products” and “safety products or ideas,” are mentioned but not explained or illustrated. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement clearly and develop fewer points with specific explanations of how they affect people’s lives.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a coherent overall arrangement, and linking expressions such as “For example,” “Moreover” and “Therefore” help show relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly where the discussion shifts from jobs to health and then to the environment. Some links are mechanical or unclear, and the conclusion repeats several points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph develop one central idea in a logical sequence; ensure that pronouns and references clearly identify what “these” and “this” refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “diseases,” “global warming,” “protecting animals” and “pollution,” so the reader can identify the main subject areas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts of the argument difficult to understand. Examples include “science important preferences,” “improve job oppurtunites,” “look for environment” and “destory human lives.” Repetition of “improve” and “people lives” also limits precision. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing scientific aims and outcomes, and check spelling carefully. Choosing precise expressions such as “create employment opportunities” or “protect ecosystems” would make your ideas clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using structures such as “This is because…” and “which can result…,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, control is inconsistent: complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes make relationships unclear. For example, “our first priority is improve” needs an infinitive form, while “science also improve health sectors” has an agreement error. The sentence beginning “The main reason I partly disagree is that…” is also difficult to follow because its clauses are not clearly connected. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammatical relationship is clear.
