Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that the primary purpose of scientific development is to make individuals live better. I firmly agree with this view because science can improve healthare, make daily activity easier and help slove major problems in society.

On the one hand, one major advantage of this is that science plays a vital role in improving human health and life. Many researcher have devlop effective medicine, vaccines and modern treatment for many serious disease. As a result, many people can live longer an enjoy a quality of life. For example, advance medical equipments can help doctors to detect disease such as cancer, lungs failure and brain tumor and provide a suitable treatment at an early stage, without secientif progess many illness can would remain deficult to treat, like back in the past disease such as ebola virus and plague. Therefore, a scientific should mainly focus on alleviate these disease.

On the other hand, another benefit of science is that it makes individuals life more comfortable and solve environmental problems. People have no access to cell phones, computer and laptop, where can can easily communicate with their families and friends from any where. For example, a person who is studying in abroad or doing a workplacement can conntect with their loved ones through messages and video calls. Furthermore, scientific development in renawable energy can help to fight climate change. For instance, solar pannels provide electricity without producing the same level of pollution like fossil fuel. As a result, people can not face medical problems and they enjoy see vibrant atmosphere.

In conclusion, i largely agree with that scientific upgradion can helpn individuals prevent from disease can proivde them a healthy lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I firmly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the prompt with relevant reasons: medical advances can improve health, while communication technology and renewable energy can make life easier and address environmental problems. Examples such as early cancer detection and solar panels help support these points. This meets the task well overall, but the development is uneven: the health paragraph gives several examples, whereas the claim that technology makes life more comfortable is less clearly explained, and the environmental point is only briefly linked to people’s lives. To strengthen the response further, explain the effects of each example more precisely and develop the connection between scientific aims and improved quality of life.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “Furthermore” make the progression easy to follow. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the second body paragraph, the move from communication technology to renewable energy is abrupt, and “As a result, people can not face medical problems” does not clearly follow from the point about solar panels. The conclusion also repeats the general position without bringing the two main arguments together. Use more precise referencing and cause-and-effect links, and make sure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “vaccines,” “early stage,” “renewable energy,” and “climate change,” and these choices help communicate the main ideas. There is also some variety in how you describe scientific benefits. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “healthare,” “slove,” “devlop,” “secientif progess,” and “renawable.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “vibrant atmosphere” and “scientific upgradion.” Aim to use accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Building a reliable set of topic vocabulary and using it precisely would make your argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “where,” and “without,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “Many researcher have devlop” needs a plural subject, while “many serious disease” requires a plural noun. The sentence beginning “People have no access to cell phones” does not express the intended meaning, and “a scientific should mainly focus” has an incorrect noun form and structure. The conclusion also contains a difficult-to-follow sequence of clauses. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building complete, clearly linked sentences; this will help you show greater control of the range you are attempting.
