Student answer (Band 5.5)
Science plays an important rule in every individual's lives that is why the most significant goal of science should be to improve our lives. Some people argue that science should be focus on others sectors such as universe and the world. I strongly agree that science should be more improve in future because it can be our lives more easy and healthcare sector might be success by science.
Some people believe that science's goal should be boost about the worlds and the universe sides. This is beasuse, if scientists are study on those subjects they can gain more knowleedge about it. Additionaly they can discover many unknown things. For example, when scientists are work with universe platform can gain knowledge about the earth and the surface. As a result, they can add those information on the academic books, moreover children get the chance introduce about the world and the universe. This is why some people think that secience should be improve on the earth and the universe.
On the other hand, modern world depends on the science. From my perspective, science should be concern about develop this sector for humans well being. Major reason is that, nowadays without using science and tengnology we may not spend our day, because science offers various types of important things in our daily lives such as we can get any unknown information , can do online shopping, and can reach other person very quickly by using secience, If science works about those facilities more and more our lives become a more easy. Furthermore, if science will work on healthcare sector with made many types of insulines and medicines many poeple can get the solutions for their diseases. Therefore, many people can survive from their extreme sickness.
In conclussion, Although improve the world and the earth's knowledge are importand for the global world , I strongly beleive that science should pay attention to enhace our lives beacuse we can spend our lives easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that science should prioritise improving people’s lives, and you give relevant reasons involving everyday convenience and healthcare. You also acknowledge the alternative view that research should explore Earth and the universe, which helps address the discussion. However, the response only partially develops the task: the benefits of everyday technology are listed rather than explained in depth, and the healthcare point is brief, with no specific example of how a scientific advance improves lives. The opposing view receives considerable space but is not weighed against your position. To strengthen the response, explain one or two examples in more detail and show why improving human wellbeing should take priority over knowledge for its own sake.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph presenting the alternative view, a paragraph supporting your position, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the universe paragraph moves from scientific discovery to textbooks and children without clearly connecting these points to the main debate. Linking phrases are also repetitive or awkward, and some sentences contain several ideas joined together, making relationships between them difficult to follow. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main reason, and make references such as “those information” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “universe,” “academic books,” “healthcare sector,” “medicines,” and “diseases,” so the reader can identify the subject of your argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “plays an important rule,” “boost about the worlds,” “universe platform,” and “science should be more improve.” Spelling errors such as “beasuse,” “knowleedge,” and “conclussion” are also noticeable. Aim to learn useful phrases as complete collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for scientific research and human wellbeing would help you express your ideas with greater clarity and variety.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including conditional forms such as “if scientists are study on those subjects” and “if science will work on healthcare sector.” This shows an effort to express cause and effect, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas harder to understand. For example, “science should be focus” has an incorrect verb form, while “when scientists are work” and “many people can get the solutions” show problems with verb construction and articles. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly where several clauses are joined by commas. Practise accurate present-tense forms and build longer sentences from correctly formed clauses.
