Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and is maintained in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including health care, food supplements, transport, electricity and agriculture, so the response addresses the question. However, the reasons are not developed equally: the health example explains how scans can identify problems, while the points about transport, electricity and environmental protection are mostly listed rather than showing specifically how they improve people’s lives. The opening also refers to differing opinions, but the essay does not explain or respond to an alternative view. To strengthen the response, select fewer examples and explain their effects in more detail, while making clear why improving lives should be science’s most important aim.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with separate main themes, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “The main reason” and “Another important reason” help signal the progression, and the examples generally relate to the paragraph topics. At times, however, the links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. The second body paragraph moves quickly from transport to electricity, food ingredients and agriculture, making its central point difficult to follow. Some references, such as “it” in the conclusion, do not clearly identify whether they refer to science or quality of life. Group related examples together, use clearer topic sentences, and add explicit links explaining how each example supports your argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advancement,” “environmental protection,” “agriculture” and “soil chemistry,” and this gives you enough language to discuss several effects of science. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “people,” “life” and “improve,” while several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make some phrases awkward or unclear. Examples include “increasingly importance,” “advance resaerch,” “food formulas” and “life journey more comfort.” These issues sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling and natural word combinations; for instance, describe how research “advances medical treatment” or how transport “reduces travel time.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “For example if we talk about health and medicines” and a sentence describing how scans help observe problem areas. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “with the advancement … improve” lacks a clear grammatical subject, and “the science change life” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Several sentences also join multiple ideas without clear punctuation, particularly the long sentence beginning “Now peoples are more curious.” Aim to form complete clauses, check singular and plural agreement, and divide long lists into shorter sentences. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
