Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a relevant position—“I agree with this statement”—and give examples involving agricultural technology and food delivered by drones during floods. These points connect to how science can improve people’s lives, so the response addresses the topic. However, the position is not consistently explained, and the ideas remain limited and under-developed: the farming example mentions weather and soil analysis but does not clearly explain its benefits, while the flood example needs more detail about how the technology helped. The environmental concern about plastic and carbon dioxide is relevant, but its relationship to your overall argument is not made clear. The response is 195 words, below the required 250, so it does not develop the task sufficiently. Extend each main point with explanation and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure, with an opening, supporting paragraphs, a contrasting point and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “to begin with,” “firstly” and “on other hand” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the farming and transport examples are introduced without fully developed links to the central argument, and the environmental point is not connected back to your position. Some transitions are awkward or repetitive, and unclear references—for example, “then it get acquire polluted”—make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Organise the essay around two or three clear reasons, give each its own paragraph, and use linking expressions only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “technology,” “weather condition,” “soil,” “floods,” “drone” and “carbon dioxide.” These choices show that you can discuss science, agriculture, transport and environmental effects. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “predomantaly,” “mistmatch,” “precousion” and “benefitical”; phrases such as “growth the plants” and “enhance the science” are also unnatural or unclear. Build a bank of accurate collocations for the topic and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions such as “increase crop yields” or “deliver emergency supplies” would help you explain your examples clearly without relying on repeated general words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional idea about being caught in floods and a sentence explaining how science supports farming. However, the range of structures is limited, and attempts at longer sentences are often faulty, which can make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the science have various technology” has problems with subject–verb agreement and number, while “when i was stuck in floods their were no food” contains errors in tense, articles and sentence punctuation. Several sentences also lack clear grammatical connections between clauses. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with conjunctions such as “because” and “which.” Check verb agreement, past-tense forms, articles and full stops during proofreading.
