Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, most important aim of science should be improve people lives. I am completely agree with this statement and I will give my own opinion in this essay.
To begin with, science change the technology people use old technology and nowadays people use new one. The new technology provide many benefits. For example people use mobile phone only for calls but science add some changes and the create a message app on that app people text someone in any country. If they dont like to call him. Science change another thing people use science and make Artificall intelligence they help people to find anything in just seconds and many people use it to make a decision and if someone have zero knowledge in anything they help him finding solution and guide him. Another improvement science do they help how to communicate with eachother in any other language the provide information and help us to learn something new. Science helps doctors to find some thing and help them if he was stuck in any serious patient disease and his mind dont remember the medicine he search it while use science.
Turning to the other point, science create people more relly on science. Thats not good because people dont do there work and they get help from science and dont add their own mind effort in any work. It create a mess between the body and the mindset of a person to relly on science.
In conclusion, science provide many important facilities for people and they help anyone to find something and communicate with any one in any other language science helps.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you completely agree that science should aim to improve people’s lives, and you give relevant examples involving communication, artificial intelligence and medical support. You also acknowledge a drawback—that people may become too dependent on science—which shows some awareness of another perspective. However, the response addresses the question only partially because most examples are listed rather than explained, and the central claim about science’s most important aim is not explored in depth. For instance, explain how a medical or communication advance improves people’s lives, and why this should take priority over other scientific aims. Develop the concern about dependence with a specific consequence and relate it to your overall position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph supporting your view, a paragraph presenting a concern, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “To begin with,” “Turning to the other point,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, progression within the main supporting paragraph is difficult to follow because several examples are joined into long sequences, and the links between them are not always clear. The conclusion mainly repeats the benefits rather than bringing together both sides of your discussion. Use separate sentences or paragraphs for distinct examples, explain each before moving on, and use clear referencing so readers can tell what “they” and “it” refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “technology,” “artificial intelligence,” “communicate,” and “doctors,” which allows the reader to understand your main examples. However, vocabulary is limited and some words and phrases are repeated, particularly “science,” “help,” and “people.” Several choices are inaccurate or unclear, such as “science change the technology” and “create people more relly on science,” which make parts of the argument harder to understand. Spelling errors such as “Artificall,” “dont,” and “relly” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for describing scientific advances and their effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express connected ideas and give examples, but the response relies heavily on simple sentence patterns, while longer sentences often become difficult to control. Errors occur frequently in verb forms and agreement: “science change” should be “science changes,” and “The new technology provide” should be “provides.” There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “most important aim” and the extended sentence beginning “For example people use mobile phone.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related points using controlled clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation between complete ideas.
