Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that science should improve people’s lives, and you give relevant examples from healthcare and agriculture. The COVID-19 vaccine example supports the medical point, while the discussion of farming connects science with food and nutrition. This addresses the main parts of the question. However, the two examples are not developed equally: the vaccine discussion includes unclear claims about how it works, and the agriculture paragraph focuses on Pakistan without explaining in detail how scientific methods improve people’s lives. The brief reference to “some restrictions” in the conclusion is also not explained. To strengthen the response, clarify the benefits and limits of science and explain the impact of each example more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs on healthcare and agriculture, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through your argument. You also use linking expressions such as “For instance,” “As a result,” and “In conclusion” to signal examples and stages in the discussion. At times, however, these links feel mechanical or do not show the relationship accurately; for example, “However” does not clearly contrast with the preceding point about farming. Some references, including “they” and “these scientific method,” are unclear, and several ideas within the body paragraphs run together. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “medical health care,” “vaccine,” “pathogens,” “agriculture,” and “nutrients.” These choices show an effort to discuss science and its effects rather than relying only on general language. However, the range is limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions, and some word choices make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “antibiotic dose” is not an accurate description of a vaccine, while “kills the disinfectants” appears to confuse the intended meaning. Spelling errors such as “agricultre,” “proffessional,” and “ecnomy” also reduce clarity. Build accuracy by checking topic-specific terms and learning natural collocations, especially for describing disease prevention and farming methods.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a concession in the conclusion. This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are noticeable and sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. For example, “Science would be play” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “People allows to take measures” has problems with agreement and sentence structure. Articles and possessives are also inconsistent, as in “individual’s lives” and “the land.” Punctuation is uneven, with missing spaces after full stops and commas. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences while checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
