Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear in the opening: you agree that science should improve people’s lives, and the conclusion returns to this view. You provide relevant examples, including medical research during the coronavirus pandemic, electric bikes, and communication through smartphones. However, the response only partly develops the task: several examples are listed rather than explained, and the discussion of challenges (“they get more charge”) is vague and not clearly connected to your overall position. The essay would be more convincing if you explained how each example improves people’s lives and addressed whether this should be science’s most important aim compared with other possible aims, such as expanding knowledge.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, a body, and a conclusion, and the examples are generally grouped around science’s effects on daily life. However, progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are crowded into one paragraph and the links between them are not always clear. The sequence “Firstly… Secondly… Thirdly” is mechanical, especially as the first point is not actually developed before the next begins. “In addition” and “Furthermore” introduce more examples, while “In contract” appears to signal a contrast but the relationship is unclear. Use separate paragraphs for health, everyday technology, and drawbacks, and make each transition show the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “human health,” “cost-effective,” “technology,” and “challenges,” and readers can usually identify the intended meaning. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “science,” “human life,” and “technology,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear: “advancing access abilities,” “minute gadget,” and “get more charge” do not express your ideas naturally. Spelling and word-form errors such as “medicies,” “easir,” “achivement,” and “apportunities” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise vocabulary for benefits and drawbacks, and check spelling and collocations so your examples are easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason-and-example structure beginning “For example,” and a concession in the conclusion. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “medicines are made… which is used” has unclear agreement, while “in many countries included pakistan are face troubled” has problems with sentence structure and verb form. Other examples include “it is make human life” and “people are more connect.” Practise forming complete clauses with accurate subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and check articles, plurals, and punctuation. Shorter, controlled sentences would help you communicate your ideas more reliably.
