Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argue that most crucial motto of science is to betterment of humankind. I completely agree with proposed statement.

Firstly, many innovations derived eventually become people friendly and to make human's life easier. To advocate this view invention of smartphones eliminate the connectivity issues with their nearest and dearest one's evenif they are living seven ocean apart. A good illustration of this could be an individual who is living in other part of the world for study or to make their career can instantly connect with their family and friends through video calling and chatting facilities. Another important factor is also well-worth mentioning that, it reduces the commute time. By ever-evolving technology we are seeing contineous upgradation in the mode of transportation which leads to decrease the travelling time to commute from one place to another place and also become more economic option for individual. For an instance, development of high speed rails and metros significantly decrease travelling time and also pocket friendly to consumers.

Moreover, Science has developed many equipments in numerous sectors be it like in industry, agriculture or in academic as well. Everone has taken the advantage of the same. The best demonstration would be farmers can grom more cops with modern farming techniques, students can personalised their learning through the advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Industries have grown up drastically over the period of time, all thanks to research done on the Science.

In a nutshell, everything we can explore around our lives is a gift of science. It benefits humankind in every facets of life if applied appropriately. Henceforth, I strongly believe that focus of science should be betterment of human lifecycle at atmost priority.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. The response addresses the question with relevant examples, including smartphones helping people stay connected, faster transport, and advances in farming, education, and industry. These examples show how science can improve daily life. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, the benefits of AI for students and industrial growth are mentioned briefly without showing specifically how they improve people’s lives. The discussion also treats improvement in human life as science’s sole priority, without considering whether other aims, such as expanding knowledge, may also matter. The relevant ideas and clear stance are established; fuller explanation and more precise support would make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting examples, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from communication and transport to farming, education, and industry is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “In a nutshell” help identify the stages of the argument. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. The opening of the first body paragraph combines several ideas in one sentence, and “Another important factor” introduces transport without clearly linking it to the preceding smartphone example. The list of benefits in the second body paragraph also moves quickly between sectors. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the relationship between examples; vary linking phrases so they guide the reader without sounding formulaic.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “connectivity,” “commute time,” “modern farming techniques,” and “Artificial Intelligence.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “most crucial motto,” “to betterment,” “contineous upgradation,” and “grom more cops”; the intended meanings are not always immediately clear. Phrases such as “seven ocean apart” and “pocket friendly to consumers” also need more natural forms. Aim for accurate, conventional collocations rather than ambitious wording that does not fit the context. Proofread spelling and choose precise expressions such as “the main aim,” “improve people’s lives,” and “increase crop yields.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

There is an attempt to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional phrase (“if applied appropriately”) and a relative clause (“who is living in other part of the world”). The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “It is often argue” needs a passive form, while “invention of smartphones eliminate” has problems with article use and subject–verb agreement. In “which leads to decrease the travelling time,” the verb pattern is not correctly formed, and “farmers can …, students can …, Industries have” creates an uneven list with inconsistent sentence construction. Review articles, agreement, verb forms, and parallel structures. Building accurate complex sentences before adding further clauses will improve control and readability.
