Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a position by saying, “I partially agree,” and discuss both benefits and drawbacks, so the response is relevant to the question. The examples of self-driving cars, phones and laptops, and learning about nature and the body give the reader some support for your view. However, the position is not fully explained: the essay does not clarify which scientific aims should take priority or how the benefits compare with the health concerns. The point that people were healthier before modern technology is asserted rather than supported, and the conclusion mostly repeats earlier claims. Develop fewer points with clearer explanations and examples, and make your degree of agreement consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the first hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help identify these sections. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together without clear links. For example, the benefits paragraph moves from cars to entertainment and then education, while “These are some points that science improve public life” does not clearly connect or summarise the preceding ideas. Some transitions are also repetitive or awkward. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it before moving on; use referencing and linking phrases more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “self-driving cars,” “technology,” “education,” and “health issue,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. For instance, “technological things” is vague, “inhabidents” appears to mean people or residents, and “off springs” is not an appropriate way to refer to young people. Spelling errors such as “particially,” “Addtionally,” and “lasy” are noticeable, and repeated use of “people,” “things,” and “science” limits precision. Build a more accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, such as the explanation beginning “because when they start to learn about science.” However, the range of structures is limited, and attempts to combine several clauses often lead to frequent errors that can make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “science make many types of things,” “it reduce the cost,” and “they was healthy,” where subject–verb agreement or verb forms are incorrect. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “increase health issue” and the run-on sequence about people’s health in the modern era. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, verb forms, and punctuation.
