Student answer (Band 5.0)
Science also improve human lives and solve nature problem. The majority of people believe that science shold improve people lives. I agree with the statement because it provides better health and fixing big problem but it also has some disadvantages such as accidental discoveries and learning new things.
One of the major reason is that science give better health to human. Science also discovers many vaccines to solve diffrent disease, which causes many people stay healthy and live. It also slove big problem. Today most of water on earth not able for drink but science also create mny machines for get good water. It also invented many seeds so that food production would be grow for big population. It create different new formulas for maintain climate. These all are inventions complete using public money, which we are pay throw taxes. It also help in human life, because sciece make smartphones and many differents machines, which may help to human in daily life for doing diffrent task. Science also find different discoveries, which also help in pride of country. For example, one month age Indian scientist invented a setalight, which cought different field pictures and activities from whole earth. India is first county, who invent this.
Although science should improve human life but it also help in secure nature and learning new things. Some time science only invent new formula for learning how it work, so it is not useful for human. On the other hand science also work to secure nature and animals. So we cant say science work only fpr improve human live.
In conclusion scice is very useful in modren time but it work to improve both human live and other things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear general position in the introduction, agreeing that science should improve people’s lives, and you provide relevant examples such as vaccines, water treatment, food production and smartphones. These show an attempt to support your view with practical benefits. However, the response only partly answers the “most important aim” aspect: it lists benefits but does not explain why improving human life should take priority over other scientific aims. The later point that science also protects nature and develops knowledge introduces a qualification, but it is not reconciled with your original position. Develop fewer examples in more detail and explain how they support your judgement about science’s main purpose.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, a main body and a conclusion, and the examples are generally grouped around science’s benefits. Basic linking phrases such as “One of the major reason,” “For example” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is uneven: the main paragraph moves rapidly from health to water, food, climate, taxes, technology and national pride, so the central argument is difficult to follow. The contrast paragraph also combines protecting nature with learning new things without clearly explaining their relationship to the question. Use separate, focused paragraphs and connect each example explicitly to your position. Clearer referencing and less repetitive use of “also” would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “vaccines,” “food production,” “climate,” “discoveries” and “secure nature,” so the reader can identify the subject and many intended points. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, as in “solve nature problem,” “create different new formulas for maintain climate” and “a setalight… cought different field pictures.” Spelling errors such as “diffrent,” “sciece” and “modren” are also noticeable. Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe satellites as “capturing images of different regions,” and use “address environmental problems” rather than “solve nature problem.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “vaccines… which causes many people stay healthy” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Examples include “Science also improve,” “science give better health,” and “food production would be grow.” Practise forming accurate subject–verb combinations and verb patterns, such as “science improves” and “production can increase.” Review articles and sentence boundaries as well, so that longer ideas remain clear.
