Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response identifies a relevant general idea—that science and technology can make people’s lives more convenient—and gives a personal example involving your sister’s use of digital tools. However, it does not clearly state how far you agree or disagree with the claim, and the discussion does not explain why improving lives should be science’s most important aim. The example is introduced but left unfinished, so its relevance and impact are unclear. The response also falls substantially short of the required minimum length, leaving the task only minimally addressed. To improve, state your position directly, develop at least two reasons with specific explanations or examples, and write a complete conclusion that reinforces your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the topic, and “On the hand” signals a move to a supporting point. The ideas about science, convenience and mobile applications are broadly connected. However, the progression is very limited, and the opening promises an explanation that the response does not provide. The example beginning “For example, my sister…” is unfinished, so the reader cannot follow the point to its conclusion. The linking phrase is also incomplete, and there is no concluding paragraph. Build a clear sequence—position, reason, explanation, example, and conclusion—and use linking expressions only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses a small set of relevant topic words, including “science,” “technology,” “convenient,” and “mobile phone application,” which makes the general subject understandable. There is also an attempt to express purpose and benefit through phrases such as “help to change the life of people.” However, vocabulary is repetitive and some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “very essential” and “define their task.” Spelling errors such as “appliction” and “intelegence” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations, for example, “improve quality of life,” “make everyday tasks easier,” and “artificial intelligence.” Check spelling carefully and use a wider range of terms to explain the specific benefits of scientific advances.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response communicates its basic meaning through simple sentence patterns, and it attempts a longer sentence with “because,” as in the explanation of how technology makes life convenient. However, grammatical control is uneven. Examples include “individuals lives,” which needs a possessive form, “the life of peoples,” where the plural construction is incorrect, and “my sister use,” which requires subject–verb agreement. The final example also ends with “for,” leaving the sentence incomplete. Most structures are simple, so the response shows little range beyond basic statements and one attempted subordinate clause. Practise accurate possessives, agreement and complete sentence construction, then add controlled complex sentences to explain causes and results.
