Student answer (Band 6.0)
Science plays a significant role in people's lives. It is often argued that science aim to enchance individuals lives better. While there are some valid arguments on both sides of this issue, I agree with this view because technology makes daily life easier and medical science improves health cares to saves lives.
To begin with, one major reason why i agree with this view because scientific developments have made life pupil's life easier and more convenient through modern technology. Many technologies have created a scientific research to save time and effort in their everyday activities. Moreover people can complete taks efficiently. For example, smartphones and the internet allow people to communicate instantly, access information and study online without travelling long distances. Therefore, scientific progress have played an important role in improving people's quality life.
Furthermore, another significant reason that is science enhances life expectancy. In modern technology society require new medicines and vaccines for person well-being. People's conditions need medical equipments because of health conditions such as cancer, chicken pox diseases. In addition, scientific advances have improved healthcare by developing vaccines, antibiotics and medical equipment that prevent diseases, treat infections and save lives. For instance, people cannot survive to diseases like covid-19. Consequently, researchers introduced medicine co-vaccine, co-shield to get out from it.
In conclusion, although there are arguments on both sides, I believe that science should primarily focus on improving people's lives using new technologies and dicoveries to the public. New innovations provide widerange of discoveries to the communities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that science should prioritise improving people’s lives, and you give two relevant reasons—everyday convenience and better healthcare. The examples of smartphones, online study, vaccines and antibiotics help connect these reasons to the question. This addresses the task, but the two points are not developed equally clearly. The technology paragraph explains practical benefits, while the healthcare discussion includes unclear claims such as “people cannot survive to diseases like covid-19” and does not clearly explain how the named vaccines illustrate the benefit. The conclusion restates your view but adds little synthesis. To strengthen the response, explain each example accurately and show more directly why improving lives should be science’s most important aim.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs organised around separate reasons, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” makes the progression easy to follow, and examples generally appear beside the point they support. This is a coherent arrangement, with some effective paragraph-level organisation. However, several links feel mechanical, and some references or transitions are unclear. For example, “Consequently” does not clearly connect the preceding statement about COVID-19 to the introduction of vaccines, while “Moreover” introduces a related point without showing its precise relationship to the previous sentence. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the cause-and-effect links explicit; this would make cohesion more natural and precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “scientific developments,” “quality of life,” “life expectancy,” “vaccines,” and “antibiotics.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both technology and healthcare rather than relying only on general terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “enhance individuals lives better,” “health cares,” “medical equipments,” and “medicine co-vaccine, co-shield.” Some expressions are also vague, such as “modern technology society.” Aim for standard collocations and precise names for medical treatments, and check spelling and word forms carefully. A more controlled range of accurate topic vocabulary would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction (“While there are some valid arguments…”) and clauses beginning “because” and “that.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, and the response has a recognisable sentence structure. However, some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction remain. For example, “science aim” needs subject–verb agreement, “scientific progress have played” has a mismatched verb, and “one major reason why i agree with this view because” lacks a complete grammatical structure. The sentence “Many technologies have created a scientific research” also has an unclear construction. Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement and verb patterns, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
