Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You state a clear position—“i completely agree”—and begin to connect science with improving people’s lives. However, the response does not develop this position: the claim that science is needed “to built up our career” is not explained or supported with an example, and the next point ends unfinished at “initially”. As a result, the task is addressed only minimally, with no developed reasons or relevant examples to show why improving lives should be science’s most important aim. The response also falls substantially short of the required 250 words, leaving too little space to explain your argument. To strengthen it, give two distinct reasons, explain how each improves people’s lives, and support them with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the topic and your position, followed by a paragraph beginning “To begin”. The phrase “because” also signals a reason. However, the progression stops almost immediately, and “initially” is left without the point it is meant to introduce. There is no completed supporting paragraph or conclusion, so the reader cannot follow a full line of argument. The opening also shifts from technology to science without clarifying their relationship. Plan a clear sequence—introduction, one paragraph for each reason, and a conclusion—and use linking phrases only where they connect complete ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “technology”, “science”, “crucial goal” and “enhance people’s lives”, which makes the subject clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “A significant number of people believe”. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling and collocations weaken precision: “reached a new height” is awkward in this context, “people living strandard” is misspelled and unnatural, and “built up our career” does not clearly express the intended benefit. The vocabulary range is also difficult to demonstrate in such a short, unfinished response. Aim for precise combinations such as “raise living standards”, “create career opportunities” and “improve public health”, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response includes both simple statements and an attempt at a longer sentence: “I completely agree with the statement because, we need science and technology…”. This shows some effort to connect ideas, but the sentence has an unnecessary comma after “because”, and the infinitive form should be “to build”, not “to built”. Other errors include “the use of technology has been increased”, where the verb construction is not appropriate, and “there are several reasona”, which has an incorrect plural form. Capitalisation is also inconsistent in “i”. Because the response is brief and ends mid-thought, there is little evidence of a wider range of structures. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled complex sentences with correct verb forms and punctuation.
