Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear position in favour of the statement and give relevant examples: internet access is linked to education in rural areas, while electric cars are connected to lower fuel use and pollution. These points show an understanding of how science can improve daily life. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the ideas are brief and not fully explained, and the conclusion ends unfinished (“Moreover it”). The opening also introduces science and technology as essential for national development without explaining how this supports your position. The response is 47 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Extend each example with a clear explanation of its impact and complete the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main reasons. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined into long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the first body paragraph moves from internet access to a “fundamental right” and then to education without clearly separating the links. Connectors such as “furthermore” and “for instance” are useful, but some transitions feel mechanical, and the final sentence is incomplete. Use one main point per paragraph, explain it in a logical sequence, and ensure that references such as “with that” clearly identify the idea they refer to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “high speed internet,” “access,” “education,” “electrical car,” and “air pollution,” so the reader can understand the general subject of each example. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “significant goal” and “considerable amount.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the message unclear, including “significant cultivate,” “bettering individuals life,” and “save our wages.” Spelling errors such as “statment,” “technololgy,” and “internate” are noticeable. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling; choose natural combinations such as “improve people’s quality of life” and “reduce household expenses.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors occur in basic patterns, as in “I am agree,” “science can bettering,” and “we can minimised,” where the verb forms are incorrect. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and agreement, for example “individuals lives” and “which are caused by fuel using vehicle.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly where sentences run together after “citizens” and where “secondly” begins a paragraph. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and verb forms, then use shorter, correctly punctuated sentences before adding more complex clauses.
