Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and is maintained in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: science supports learning and everyday tasks through technology, and it improves housing and public infrastructure. Examples such as students using ChatGPT and householders learning recipes help illustrate the first point, while remote-controlled lights and fans support the second. This is a relevant response to the prompt, but the discussion focuses mainly on technology and buildings; it does not fully explore other ways science can improve lives, such as medicine or public health. Some claims, particularly about how earlier people lived, are broad and would benefit from more precise explanation. Develop the consequences of each example more clearly to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from educational technology to improved buildings is easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “For instance,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This time further can use for some other work” does not clearly identify who uses the time, and the shift from learning apps to housewives’ recipes is not fully explained. The second body paragraph also moves between historical conditions, modern design, and household devices without always showing how each point supports the main claim. Use clearer references and explain the links between examples and your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “technology,” “social platforms,” “infrastructure,” and “advancement,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “complex tasks” and “remote control.” However, the range is limited by repeated use of general words such as “improve,” “people,” and “science,” and several inaccurate choices or collocations make parts of the response awkward. Examples include “living styles,” “studies improvements,” and “latest Design.” Spelling errors such as “impertant,” “infrastructre,” “housewifies,” and “reciepies” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully; using accurate collocations will make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which,” “while,” and “rather than,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate. For example, “many different and latest Design … can created” needs a passive construction (“can be created”), while “This time further can use” is missing a clear subject and correctly formed verb phrase. There are also issues with articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “there was no many designing tools” and “science made designing easier.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although your main points remain recoverable. Practise accurate passive forms and complete clause structures, then proofread for agreement and punctuation.
