Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this faced pace era, It is often argued that it should be the fundamental aim of science to improve the lives of people. Although some people believe that it is not necessary for the betterment of human's lives, I completely agree with this assertion because it will improve the flexibilty and connectivity in the life styles of human over a large scale. In this essay, I will elaborate on these points and give my final well-supported conclusion.

To begin with, the most compelling argument in favour of science contribution for human well-being is that it will definitely enhance the flexibility and productivity of our routine works. For example, AI (artificial intelligence) mainly known as an advanced term of computer science, it played a crucial in our daily lives. Everyone can resolve their issues by taking assistance from AI and enhance their productivity of work either in educational sector or in an official sector efficiently. Therefore, it is evident that the advanced scientific developments would be more helpful for human, if they will design and introduce accordingly.

Another supporting factor for my agreement with the aforementioned statement is that it will improve the connectivity of people over a long distance without any hurdle. Such as, today people can connect with their loved ones or conduct their offcial meetings by using internet without any worriness. They can share their videos or documents online within few minutes, which was impossible just before a decade. So, its a significant involvement of science in our lives which enhance our life styles. Eventually, Government should keep going their efforts for the well-being of people.

In conclusion, it can be said that science should promote their services for the betterment of human

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you completely agree that science should aim to improve people’s lives, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons—greater productivity through AI and easier long-distance communication. These examples address the question and make your argument understandable. However, the ideas are not developed equally or in much depth. The AI paragraph explains several possible uses, but does not show in detail how these benefits support science as its most important aim. The connectivity paragraph is also largely descriptive, and the conclusion ends abruptly without restating your reasoning or giving a complete final thought. To strengthen the response, explain why improving lives should take priority over other possible scientific aims and develop each example with a specific consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from productivity to connectivity is logical, and phrases such as “To begin with,” “Another supporting factor” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, some linking is mechanical, and a few connections between sentences are unclear. For instance, “For example” introduces a sentence about AI that is grammatically difficult to follow, while “Such as” does not form a complete transition into the example about internet use. The final paragraph is too brief to bring the argument together. Use cohesive devices more naturally, make references such as “it” and “they” unambiguous, and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “productivity,” “connectivity,” “scientific developments” and “well-being.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the response attempts some less common expressions. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “faced pace era,” “science contribution,” “without any worriness” and “significant involvement of science.” There are also spelling errors, including “flexibilty” and “offcial,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise combinations rather than formal-sounding phrases that do not fit the context. For example, describe science as “contributing to human well-being” and say that people can communicate “without difficulty.” Proofreading for spelling and word forms would also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the introduction and clauses beginning with “because,” “which” and “if.” Most of the intended meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect sentence control. For example, “For example, AI … it played a crucial” combines sentence structures awkwardly and is missing a complement after “crucial.” In “if they will design and introduce accordingly,” the conditional form is not well controlled, and “which enhance our life styles” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The conclusion is also an incomplete sentence. Work on forming complete clauses, maintaining agreement, and using conditional structures accurately; then check punctuation and sentence boundaries, especially in longer sentences.
