Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contemporary era , environment issues have become major concern worldwide . Some individuals believe that the extinction of cetain plants and animals species is most serious environmental problem . While others argue that issues such as pollution and climate change are most important . This esay will discuss both statements and I believe that all environment problems deserve attention .
On the one hand , some people advocate that disapperance of particular species is a serious environmental concern . This is because plants and animals play significant role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem . For example , bees help in pollination which supports the growth of many crops . If certian species become extinct then it break the cycle of food chain and put negative effect on other living organisms . Therefore , protecting endangered species is essential for maintianing biodiversity .
On the other hand , others believe that there are more serious environmental problems such as air pollution , water pollution and global warming . These issues directly affect human health as well as. natural atmosphere . For instance , air pollution caused by factories and heavy vehicals which lead to breathing problems and global warming causes rising temperatures and extreme weather conditions . Moreover , some people through garbage in rivers or ponds . It make drinking water unsafe for humans and animals . Therfore , government should take effective steps to mitigate this issues .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear overall position: the conclusion says that species loss and other environmental problems are “equally important.” Relevant support includes the role of bees in pollination and the effects of pollution on health and water safety. This meets the task’s main requirements. However, some ideas are more fully explained than others. The species-loss paragraph links extinction to ecosystem balance and food chains, while the discussion of wider problems lists several examples but does not compare their scale or explain why they may be more important. Your opinion that all problems deserve attention is clear, but it could be developed with a reasoned comparison showing how these threats are connected or differ in urgency.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from the first position to the opposing view is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help the reader navigate the argument. This organisation is a strength. Some linking is mechanical, however, and connections between examples and the main claims could be smoother. For instance, “Moreover” introduces the litter example, but its relationship to the preceding discussion of air pollution and global warming is not made explicit. The conclusion also repeats the introduction’s position rather than drawing together the comparison. Use clearer referencing and vary transitions to make the flow more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant environmental vocabulary, including “extinction,” “ecosystem,” “pollination,” “biodiversity,” and “extreme weather conditions.” These terms help communicate the topic and show some range beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “cetain,” “disapperance,” “maintianing,” and “through garbage.” Phrases such as “natural atmosphere” and “negative effect on other living organisms” are understandable but not always the most precise or natural choices. Build accuracy by checking spelling carefully and learning common collocations as complete phrases, such as “throw rubbish into rivers” and “maintain ecological balance.” This would make your vocabulary more controlled and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If certain species become extinct…” and a relative clause in “air pollution caused by factories and heavy vehicles which lead…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include missing articles in “has become major concern” and “play significant role,” subject–verb agreement in “it break” and “It make,” and an incomplete sentence in “although the loss … is significant environmental issue.” Punctuation also needs attention: several spaces appear before commas or full stops, and the final paragraph uses a full stop where the contrast should continue. Review articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a complete grammatical structure.
