These days environmental problems are become a part of discussion in our society. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response introduces both viewpoints and gives a relevant reason for protecting species: biodiversity loss can disrupt food chains, illustrated by the effect of declining tiger populations. However, the discussion stops before explaining the opposing view about other environmental problems, and the promised personal opinion is not actually stated. The opening says both views will be discussed, but only one is developed, so the task is addressed only partially. The response also contains 140 words, which is 110 words below the required minimum; this leaves too little space to develop the missing side, support the argument with examples, and reach a clear conclusion. To improve, explain at least one competing problem, such as climate change or pollution, compare its importance with species loss, and state your position explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction is followed by a paragraph about biodiversity, and linking expressions such as “Although,” “For example,” and “Therefore” show an attempt to connect ideas. The example also follows the point it is intended to support. However, the response has no developed paragraph for the second viewpoint and no conclusion, so the overall progression is incomplete. Some connections are awkward or unclear, particularly “Although some individuals of claim … while, others think,” where the relationship between the two views is difficult to follow. The final standalone “O” also interrupts the ending. Build a clear sequence with one paragraph for each view and a concluding paragraph that states your opinion; use linking words only where their relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses some relevant topic vocabulary, including “loss of biodiversity,” “extinction,” “food chain,” “decline in tiger populations,” and “endangered species.” These terms help communicate the central environmental concern, and the example is specific. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “a part of discussion,” “main problem of environment,” and “contribute that how.” There is also repetition of “environment” and “plants and animals,” while the limited development restricts the range of vocabulary shown. Aim for more natural academic phrasing and precise collocations, such as “a subject of public debate,” “the main environmental problem,” and “contribute to the argument that.” Broader discussion of the other environmental view would also allow you to demonstrate a wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms. For example, the opening uses a concessive structure beginning with “Although,” and the body includes a cause-and-effect sentence introduced by “Due to.” However, these attempts are often faulty: “environmental problems are become” has an incorrect verb form, and “some individuals of claim … while, others think” has problems with sentence construction and punctuation. In “Due to lose … can be disturb,” the verb forms and sentence structure make the meaning difficult to follow; “which are directly put negative effect” also shows problems with agreement and article use. These errors occur across several sentences, although the main ideas remain partly understandable. Practise accurate clause construction and verb patterns, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation in each sentence.
