Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, environmental problems are the main problem of world it increased with time. Some people say that the main environmental problems of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. However, other aruge that there are more significant environmental problems in the present age.

To begin with, from my point of view both problems are crucial. Firstly, we discussed the first view so it,s true that the main ecological issues is the loss of particular kinds of plants and animals. In the present age there are many types of animals are not available. Moreover, the important species of famous animals was decrease with time and its badly affected on environment. In addition, there are many kinds of plants as well not remained longer in the world today. Therefore, the ecological crises are created as a result of loss of plants. For instance, if we are cutting many kinds of trees around the city so as a result the city effected with air pollution. Moreover it badly effected on human life in such sitution many disease created in human society.

In addition, in my opinion the others people are also right on there place because many other environmental issues are as well significant. Additionally, there are many problems such as a water pollution, air pollution, deforestation, climate change and global warming. However, the air pollution and climate change are so crucial issues because they are very dangerous for humans, animals and plants.

In conclusion, from my percepective, both ecological crises affect on both humans and animals. We should take solid steps to solve these problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear overall opinion that both kinds of environmental problem matter, especially in “from my point of view both problems are crucial.” You also include relevant examples, such as tree cutting leading to air pollution, and name climate change and water pollution. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the species-loss view is repeated rather than explained in depth, and the second view is mainly a list of problems without showing why they may be more important. The link between species loss, tree cutting and pollution also needs clearer explanation. To strengthen the response, compare the scale or consequences of the two views and support each with a specific, developed example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Phrases such as “To begin with,” “In addition” and “In conclusion” help signal stages of the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined mechanically with repeated “Moreover” and “In addition.” The first body paragraph moves from species loss to tree cutting and then human disease without clearly explaining the connections. Some references, such as “both problems” and “these problems,” are broad and do not specify which issues are meant. Organise each body paragraph around one main view, then develop it through a reason and example, using linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “species,” “ecological issues,” “deforestation,” “climate change” and “global warming,” so the subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “famous animals,” “not remained longer” and “effected on human life.” Spelling errors such as “aruge,” “sitution” and “percepective” also reduce accuracy. Some phrases, including “environmental problems” and “crucial issues,” recur without much variation. Build a more precise set of topic expressions and check collocations and spelling; for example, describe species as “endangered” or “declining,” and say that pollution “harms human health.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, using connectors such as “because,” “if” and “as a result.” Nevertheless, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “the main ecological issues is,” the incorrect construction “there are many types of animals are not available,” and tense or verb-form problems in “species … was decrease.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a water pollution” and the run-on opening, “Nowadays, environmental problems are the main problem of world it increased with time.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete sentences with appropriate punctuation before adding more complex clauses.
