Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, A few individuals believes that the major environmental problem in current time is the extension of particular species of plants and animals. While other residents says that there are more other significant environmental issues. These have so many reasons for both statement. I partially agree with both the views because both the statement have their own reasons.
To begin with, there are so many species are loss due to the environmental problems due to the increasing population in world so many forest areas are cut down and development of the residential areas for improve the living space and accommodation for the citizens. Furthermore, more natural resources can be used for the various purpose so from that more deforestation is occurs for making the different products such as papers due to less areas of forest animals and plants are loss their species. For example, more and more deforestation is occurs and their are no space for the living of animals so they can loss their species.
Besides this, many individuals are believes that there are more significant issues for the environment beside this such as so many residents are thrown the garbage in the natural place that can polluted environment. Apart from this, at so many place the forest fire is also increasing due to the carelessness of the peoples this also lead to be a major problem for the environment.
In conclusion, the major problem is increasing population can decreasing the forest part and they can not do the care of the nature so forest fire like incidents is take place. In my opinion, I partially agree with both the views for the environmental problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, fulfilling the basic requirements of the task. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding species loss and other environmental issues are repetitive and lack specific, well-developed examples. The opinion is stated but remains superficial, as it does not explain why the writer partially agrees with both sides in a meaningful way. To improve, you should focus on expanding your points with concrete evidence or logical reasoning rather than repeating similar ideas about deforestation and pollution. The response covers all parts of the prompt, but the depth of analysis is insufficient for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Besides this' and 'Apart from this' are used repetitively, and some transitions do not logically connect the ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is often disjointed. While there is an overall progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of the sentence structure hinder the coherence of the argument. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring they are used to link ideas logically will significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains basic and repetitive. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'extension of particular species' (likely meaning extinction) and 'no space for the living of animals'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and the essay relies on simple, everyday language. To achieve a higher score, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary, including less common items and more precise collocations related to environmental topics. Focus on learning synonyms and phrases that allow you to express complex ideas more accurately and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'A few individuals believes' and 'many individuals are believes'. Additionally, there are errors in verb tense and sentence structure, such as 'there are so many species are loss' and 'deforestation is occurs'. The range of grammatical structures is limited, with a heavy reliance on simple sentences. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and verb forms. Incorporating a wider variety of complex sentence structures will also help, provided they are used accurately.
