Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views regarding environmental problems, but the development is limited. While you mention the loss of species and other issues like pollution and health risks, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. The position is somewhat unclear, as the conclusion does not explicitly state your own opinion, merely suggesting that we should look at both sides. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides more detailed, logical explanations rather than listing examples that are not fully connected to the main point.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear structure. It is written as two long, dense paragraphs that do not effectively separate the two viewpoints. There is a lack of cohesive devices (such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast') to guide the reader through your arguments. The progression of ideas is often disjointed, making it difficult to follow the logic. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks for each main idea and employ transition words to link your sentences and paragraphs together more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple words like 'effect' (often used incorrectly as a verb instead of 'affect'), 'problem', and 'things'. There is little evidence of less common vocabulary or precise collocations. Many phrases are awkward, such as 'plants and animals loss their life'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary related to the environment, such as 'biodiversity', 'ecosystem', 'hazardous waste', or 'mitigation strategies', and ensure you use words in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'dirty water cause dengue'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'don't able to make food'), and missing articles. The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with many run-on sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subjects and verbs agree, and using correct verb tenses consistently.
