Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that loss of crucial species of plants and animals are the main issue of our environment. At the same time, other people also have notions, they say that a large proportion of issues are present in our environment rather than the species problem.
In this essay, I'm discussing about both views and draw valuable conclusion as well.
On one hand, some people say that loss of necessary species of plants and animals is a very challenging problem for our society. There are a large number species that started declining in these days due to unsatisfied performance of EPA. people are hunting these valuable species but no one is here to take the action against them.
On the other hand, some people think that there are more important hardships are present in our society related to climate change, waste management, air and water pollution. These all conditions deteriorate the situation ,even its harmful impacts are too much on our environment and we do not able to compensate these situations in near future.
A large number of people started dying due to asthma disease because suitable trees are not present in our environment according to our demand which leads to harmful air inhalation and cause death of asthmatic patients all over the world.
In my imagination, both of these situations are critical for our environment. Important species of animals and plants make sure the survival of our society. There is also a need to remove all the dangers from our environment which trigger pollution and deforestation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the mention of the 'EPA' is vague and lacks context, and the argument regarding asthma is somewhat disconnected from the broader environmental debate. The position is stated but lacks depth in its justification. To improve, you should provide more specific, well-explained examples to support your points rather than relying on general assertions. The conclusion is brief and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'In my imagination' to introduce an opinion, which is not standard academic phrasing. Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the logical flow within paragraphs could be smoother. For example, the transition from discussing climate change to the specific issue of asthma feels disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on somewhat repetitive or imprecise phrasing, such as 'unsatisfied performance' and 'hardships are present'. There are also instances of awkward collocations, such as 'draw valuable conclusion' (should be 'draw a valuable conclusion') and 'harmful air inhalation'. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to environmental science, such as 'biodiversity loss', 'mitigation strategies', or 'anthropogenic factors', rather than relying on general descriptive terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'loss of crucial species... are the main issue') and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'we do not able to compensate'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage after introductory phrases. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a highly effective way to improve your score.
