Student answer (Band 6.0)
Maintaining the healthy environment is necessary for healthy lifestyle. Some people say that the loss of particular species of plant and animals is the main environmental problem of our time but others say that there are main environmental problems. This essay will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own view.
On the one hand, the loss of special species of plants and animals cause many environmental problems. Plants play major role in environment because they provide the oxygen to humans and get the carbon dioxide. When unique species of plants die out the whole nature network breaks down because many animals depends on them for food and homes. Moreover, loss of animals also cause environmental problems. Many animals are the source of food for other animals. When the special animal vanishes, it breaks the natural balance. Because every animal has a job. If one goes missing the whole nature system suffers.
On the other hand, some say there are more environmental problems expect loss of animals and plants. The main reason of environmental problem is vehicles and factories. Because the smoke of vehicles cause air pollution. The polluted smoke cause the lungs and heart diseases and the waste material of factories is very dangerous for sea life because they throw the waste material at the edge of lakes, rivers. So, there are also more important problems.
I conclude within my opinion. Everything should be in balance for healthy environment and we should to work hard to save the rare species of plants and animals. We should also participate to reduce the everything which cause environmental problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, satisfying the requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the importance of biodiversity and the impact of pollution, the arguments remain at a general level and lack specific, well-developed examples to fully support your points. For instance, mentioning 'factories' and 'vehicles' is relevant, but the explanation of why these might be considered more pressing than species loss could be more nuanced. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a deeper analysis of the 'why' and 'how' behind your claims rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the two main body paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'there are main environmental problems' in the introduction, which does not clearly contrast with the first view. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help elevate your score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'biodiversity' (implied), 'natural balance,' and 'air pollution.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on simple or repetitive phrasing, such as 'environmental problems' and 'healthy environment.' There are also minor collocation issues, such as 'get the carbon dioxide' instead of 'absorb carbon dioxide.' To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and collocations to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the healthy environment'), subject-verb agreement ('many animals depends'), and preposition usage. Some sentences are also slightly awkward, such as 'we should to work hard.' While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic errors like missing articles and verb endings will help improve your accuracy. Try to vary your sentence structures further by using more complex subordinating conjunctions.
