Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 169 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the essay is incomplete and ends abruptly. While you attempt to address both views, the discussion is underdeveloped and lacks a clear, consistent position throughout. The introduction is somewhat off-topic, focusing on general pollution rather than the specific debate regarding the loss of species versus other environmental issues. To improve, you must ensure you fully explore both perspectives with supporting examples and provide a clear conclusion, while meeting the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization through the use of paragraphs and transition signals like 'Firstly' and 'On the other hand'. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Some sentences are disjointed, and the connection between the introduction and the body paragraphs is weak. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the abrupt ending makes it difficult to follow the overall argument. To improve, focus on using a wider range of cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that links back to the main prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you use some relevant terms like 'urbanization', 'industrialization', and 'exotic species', there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'accumulates by the waste products' and 'completion for light'. Some phrases are awkward, such as 'the most of the basic needed is depended on producer'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a more varied range of vocabulary and ensure that words are used in their correct context and grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'Globalization has lead the severe consequences' (should be 'led to'), 'Human population is one of the reason' (should be 'reasons'), and 'Farmer introduced different varieties to resistant' (should be 'resist'). Sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and the incomplete final sentence. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct verb forms will help improve your accuracy.
