Student answer (Band 5.5)
there is a particular categorie of person who thinks that the missing of a well defined types of plants and animals is the most important environmental problem , however , other people notes that it exists a more crucial environmental engimas .
Animals and plants are very importants in our ecosystem and they are very responsibles of the continouisity of our planet because some animals are created to solve some environmental problems like insects , without those animals that eat those insects , some trees and even humans will get affected badly and damaged , in addition , bees are very importants due to their main role of producing honey that is a very rich ingrediant of vitamins to human's nutrition . Also the extinction of many plans is really bad for the environment because of its crucial role in providing a very good nutrition to human being and providing oxigyn that is the main gas for every creature , furthermore , plants are vitals for many animals because it consist to them a source of food and its loss does affect the ecosystem .
However , there is another more important problem and it is pollution that is widespread in alot of parts in the world including marines and soils . pollution does really affect the environment badly because of emission of bad gases in the air like carboon and hyliom witch provides a very bad quality of air that affects breathing of all creatures and also marine pollution affects negatively marine life with alot of facturies pouring their wastes in the water witch really kill alot of marine lives .
In my point of view , i think the pollution is really more important that the fist problem because pollution inn the reason of plants and animals extinction so countries should makes plans to stop this important disaster .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation of why species loss is a problem relies on simplistic examples like bees and honey, and the argument for pollution as a more significant problem is not fully explored in terms of its broader environmental impact. While the task requirements are met, the depth of analysis is restricted, preventing a higher score. The position is consistent throughout, but the supporting arguments lack the sophistication required for higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive. Phrases like 'in addition', 'also', and 'furthermore' are used frequently to link simple sentences, which can make the flow feel somewhat stilted. Additionally, there are issues with referencing and sentence-level cohesion, such as the run-on sentences in the introduction and the final paragraph. While the overall structure is logical, the lack of variety and occasional awkward transitions limit the effectiveness of the cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'categorie', 'continouisity', 'ingrediant', 'oxigyn', 'carboon', 'hyliom', and 'facturies'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. Furthermore, the word choice is often simplistic or inaccurate, such as 'missing of a well defined types' instead of 'loss of specific species' or 'environmental engimas' instead of 'environmental challenges'. To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and expanding your range of collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('other people notes'), incorrect use of articles, and awkward phrasing ('it exists a more crucial environmental engimas'). Punctuation is also problematic, with spaces placed before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the text from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and punctuation rules.
