Student answer (Band 6.0)
few individuals believe that the most important environmental problem in today's time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. While others disagree with this stating there are more important environmental problems. In my opinion both views are considerable , from history we did lost many valuable plants and animals to the environment but there are also other factors effecting environment.
firstly , in our time environment is not the same as it used to be back in the days. The growth of industrial revolution , increasing population and urban devolopment has caused loss of many particular species. More over it impacted many to go distinct from the planet. It is directly effecting the average human age , impacting negatively towards health and well being of the society .This means it has a greater impact on the nature that should be highly considered and look onto . Further said , trees are the main reason of human existence which should never be under looked in any situation . Environmental problems are not a good way to move forward as distinction of wild life is will destroy the whole ecosystem.
Now coming to the other side of the argument , we do have many factors which has opressed the well being of the nature . The reasons are more harmfull than what we think. In today's time pollution is one of the biggest reason , if not the biggest. It is impacting the ozone layer in a far more speed than scientist has calculated as of now. In the recent study another reason effecting the nature is massive urban devolopment of cities on the forest land , which is causing climate change and water pollution. If we go deep into the factors effecting the environment , we can have a clear take on how to save it for the future. Implimenting rules and regulations which are strict to follow will help us reduce the existing problems with the nature.
in conclusion, yes the environment is negetively effected by the loss of particular species of plants and animals but there are other factors which are also a major problem for the nature. Considering both views equally and coming to a possible solution is the best way to handle it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the claim that 'trees are the main reason of human existence' is a broad assertion that lacks specific supporting evidence or logical depth. While the prompt is addressed, the discussion of 'other environmental problems' is slightly generic, focusing on pollution and urban development without fully exploring the comparative weight of these issues against biodiversity loss. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples and ensure your arguments are fully extended rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Further said' and 'Now coming to the other side of the argument' are not standard academic transitions. Additionally, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed; for example, the transition from the industrial revolution to human health in the second paragraph lacks a clear logical link. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'did lost' (should be 'have lost'), 'effecting' (should be 'affecting'), 'go distinct' (should be 'go extinct'), and 'under looked' (should be 'overlooked'). These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. To improve, focus on learning the correct forms of words and their appropriate contexts. Using more precise academic vocabulary would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'scientist has calculated' instead of 'scientists have calculated'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'is will destroy'), and punctuation errors, such as placing spaces before commas. These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your main points. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense consistency would be highly beneficial.
