Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 145 words long. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both sides of the argument and states a position, the discussion is severely underdeveloped. The second body paragraph is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. Because the task is not fully addressed due to the lack of length and incomplete arguments, the response cannot reach a higher band. To improve, you must ensure you provide full, well-supported arguments for both perspectives and reach the required word count.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with' and 'On the other hand', but the overall structure is compromised by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is unfinished, which disrupts the logical flow. The progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of development, making the essay feel like a series of disjointed points rather than a cohesive argument. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts within each paragraph and using a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some errors in word choice, such as 'major ecological crisis' (should be 'is a major ecological crisis') and 'pronlem' (spelling error). The vocabulary is somewhat repetitive and lacks the sophisticated collocations expected at higher levels. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues and ensure accurate spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'People has faced' (subject-verb agreement error), 'in home also in offices' (missing articles/prepositions), and 'due to huge noise public prefer' (missing article). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, article usage, and ensuring your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
