Student answer (Band 4.0)

Yes i think environmental is more important over health and better future.

If over environmental is good and clean then we feel healthy and working. If over environment is not good then we didnot take care of over health and environment pollution and so people didnot feel god and leave this area and go other city or other if he feel good and environment is clean.

If have over city or town animals and plants so i thinks over city or town environment is not clean and mostly people health is poor and he didnot good working.Enviroments have pollution and air is not good. And mostly people good other enviroments and feels better.

Both enviroments is benefits if people have plants and animals is have good benefits then this living in villige side and is taking and environments and fresh air then people didnot do any thinks over if this all thinks you have in city side so you didnot feel goods and neighber also didnot feels goods.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to address the prompt effectively. It does not discuss both views regarding environmental problems, nor does it provide a coherent argument. The text is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which severely limits the development of ideas. The content is repetitive and lacks specific examples or a clear structure to answer the task requirements. Because the response is only 166 words, it cannot adequately explore the complex topic of biodiversity loss versus other environmental issues, resulting in a very limited and underdeveloped response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks logical progression. Ideas are presented in a fragmented manner, and there is no clear paragraph structure. The use of cohesive devices is almost non-existent, making the text difficult to follow. Sentences are often disconnected, and the repetition of words like 'environment' and 'people' without clear referents makes the flow mechanical and confusing. There is no evidence of logical sequencing or effective paragraphing, which are essential for higher band scores.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive. The student relies on a limited set of words, often using them incorrectly, such as 'good' and 'working' in contexts where they do not fit. There is no attempt to use less common or academic vocabulary. Frequent errors in word choice, such as 'didnot take care of over health' (likely meaning 'our health'), impede communication and demonstrate a lack of control over even simple lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement, tense usage, and word order. For example, 'If have over city or town animals' is grammatically incorrect and hinders clarity. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and incorrect capitalization. The lack of complex structures and the high frequency of basic grammatical errors make the writing difficult to read and understand.
