Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 143 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While the essay attempts to address both views, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth and supporting examples required for an academic task. The position is not clearly articulated or maintained throughout the response. Due to the significant under-length and the lack of a clear conclusion or comprehensive discussion, the response cannot be awarded a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the ideas within the paragraphs are disjointed and difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the awkward transition 'what is mean that'. The lack of a clear introduction, body, and conclusion makes the overall structure ineffective. The flow of information is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors and unclear phrasing, which hinders the reader's ability to follow the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'clearing' instead of 'increasing' or 'critical', and 'carbon toxoid' instead of 'carbon dioxide'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. The student struggles to use appropriate terminology related to environmental issues, relying on basic and often misused words. To improve, the student needs to focus on learning collocations and precise terminology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort meaning. Sentence structures are largely simple and often incomplete or fragmented, such as 'To improve the palnt'. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and word order (e.g., 'there are most important than them'). The lack of control over basic sentence construction makes the text difficult to read. There is no evidence of complex sentence structures, and the high frequency of errors significantly impacts the clarity of the message.
