Student answer (Band 5.0)
Now a days people think that the main problem of environmental changes is the loss of particular species of plants and animals while the other thinks that there are a lot more important environmental problems are their in society which need more attention .
The loss of plants and animal is the cause of environmental problems by some people but most the people think that this is not important whether we loss particular plant or animal the most important think is we have palently of other kind of plants and animals are their in the world For example when we loss the dinosaurs nothing happened the world move on Same as there are a lot of other plants that we even don't know they exists but it didn't affect the environment at all.
People believe that our environment faces a lot more important problems rather then that For example in India 70%of the population lives in slum areas or in the main holes which causes the sewer health issues in the environment such as skin problems heart issues etc.. .
Same as in China the COVID 19 the virus speared to the world and the whole world got effected by that virus different countries a lot of people died because of that .. that was the biggest environmental change happened in the human world. most of the people believe that these are the most important issues that need to look after and help the environment for human to living place .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument, but the development of ideas is superficial and lacks logical depth. For instance, the claim that the extinction of dinosaurs had no effect on the world is a significant oversimplification that undermines the argument. Furthermore, the essay fails to clearly state your own opinion, which is a requirement of the prompt. The examples provided, such as the mention of COVID-19 as an 'environmental change,' are largely irrelevant to the topic of biodiversity loss versus other environmental issues. To improve, you must ensure your position is clear throughout and support your arguments with more relevant, analytical reasoning rather than anecdotal or inaccurate claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas, making the progression of arguments feel disjointed. For example, the transition between the discussion of species loss and the mention of slums in India is abrupt and lacks a logical connector. Referencing is often unclear, and the use of punctuation is inconsistent, which disrupts the flow of the text. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' 'in contrast') to guide the reader through your arguments more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic phrasing. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'main holes' (likely meaning manholes), 'sewer health issues,' and 'the world move on.' The phrasing 'palently of other kind' is also non-standard. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'speared' instead of 'spread') restrict the range. To improve, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that you are using words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most the people think'), sentence fragments, and incorrect preposition usage. The sentence structures are predominantly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. For example, 'most of the people believe that these are the most important issues that need to look after and help the environment for human to living place' is grammatically convoluted and unclear. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that clauses are connected correctly using appropriate conjunctions and relative pronouns.
