Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks to discuss both views regarding environmental problems, the arguments provided are underdeveloped and often confusing. For instance, the claim that 'problems are good' because heat kills dangerous organisms is illogical and lacks sufficient supporting evidence. The student's own opinion is not clearly articulated or sustained throughout the essay. Due to the lack of depth, failure to reach the word count, and the unclear presentation of the two viewpoints, the response does not fully address the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. Paragraphing is present but ineffective, as the ideas within the paragraphs do not flow logically. There is a heavy reliance on repetitive sentence structures and a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas. For example, the transition 'On of the point of view i describe' is awkward and does not effectively introduce a new argument. Referencing is often unclear, and the overall structure feels disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the writer's train of thought.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'problems'. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'envinorment', 'livr', and 'organisman', which occasionally impede communication. The student struggles to use precise terminology related to the environment, instead using vague phrases like 'seasonal problems' or 'atmosphere difficulties'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the errors in word formation are noticeable throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with frequent errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'many childs and old persons were died'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are almost always faulty, leading to confusion. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and incorrect capitalization. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a lack of control over basic grammatical structures.
