Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you mention both views, the discussion is superficial and lacks the depth required for an Academic Task 2 essay. You touch upon pollution and war as causes for species loss, but you do not adequately explore the 'other environmental problems' mentioned in the prompt. The position is stated, but the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific, relevant examples to support the claims. To improve, you must expand your points with detailed explanations and concrete evidence to meet the length requirement and fully address all parts of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas together; for instance, the transition between the introduction and the body is abrupt. The use of referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Many plants and animals got loss by them,' where the antecedent is ambiguous. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and incorporate a wider range of linking words and phrases to guide the reader through your argument logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'got loss' instead of 'lost' and 'whitout' (spelling error). The phrase 'left us whitout any attention from officiels of environment' is unnatural. To reach a higher band, you need to move beyond simple vocabulary and attempt to use more sophisticated, topic-specific collocations related to environmental science and global issues, while also ensuring accurate spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'our planet faced' instead of 'faces'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain run-on structures. For example, 'Industries all they think about is to reach the full profit' is grammatically incorrect. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and punctuation, before attempting more complex structures. Ensure that you proofread your work to catch common errors in articles and pluralization.
