Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is no doubt that the enviourmental issue create a massive impact on the human being and any society,so some people argugs that the specific species of plants and animals of their time is main issue of the enviourment ,but in my opnion the loss of species is a critical issue so we must work on this issue in time to preserve our society and enviourment.

On the other hand some people says that the loss of species of plant and animals is not a serious issue but the enviormental changes are more dangerous and climate changes like natural disaster storms natural calamities are must bad for any society and envioument,so the goverments must work on that climate changes to preserve our countries, also noise pollution have a very bad impact on the mental health of human beings there may be a listening problems in that society.

In my own opinion the society must address the climate changes instead of loss of plant and animals of that particular region by controlling climate changes we save many human lifes from disaster many diseses controlled by good enviorment people of that area spend a very relax and healthy life and also work for the betterment of the society.

Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.so must save our climate changes from the enviourment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments regarding biodiversity loss and climate change are stated but lack depth or specific examples. The essay repeats the prompt in the final paragraph, which is unnecessary and indicates a lack of planning. While the task is addressed, the ideas are not fully extended, and the conclusion is weak. To improve, you should focus on providing concrete examples (e.g., specific endangered species or specific climate events) to support your arguments and ensure each paragraph contributes new information.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between ideas is often mechanical or disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is limited, with an over-reliance on 'so' and 'also'. Some sentences are run-on, such as the first paragraph, which makes it difficult to follow the logical progression. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is redundant as it repeats the prompt. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'enviourmental', 'argugs', 'opnion', and 'diseses'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and the word choices are often imprecise (e.g., 'must bad' instead of 'extremely detrimental'). The essay lacks the sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to environmental issues and proofread your work to correct common spelling mistakes. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement ('some people argugs', 'noise pollution have'), missing articles, and incorrect word forms ('human lifes'). Punctuation is also problematic, with many run-on sentences and a lack of proper sentence boundaries. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors impacts the overall quality of the writing. To improve, practice using complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, and focus on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralization and verb tenses.
