Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is limited. The essay is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly impacts the depth of the argument. Ideas are presented but remain underdeveloped; for example, the explanation of how climate change affects species is vague and lacks specific examples. The position is stated in the introduction but is not consistently supported throughout the body paragraphs. To improve, you must expand your arguments with concrete examples and ensure the essay meets the minimum length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To explanation that' and 'for this reasouns'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, and the transition between the two views is abrupt. While there is an attempt to use linking words, they are frequently misused, which hinders the flow of the argument. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains frequent errors in spelling and word choice, such as 'insughtfull', 'dimintion', 'anamles', 'dustry', and 'elemenation'. These errors occasionally make it difficult for the reader to understand the intended meaning. The range of vocabulary is basic, and there is little attempt to use less common or precise lexical items. To achieve a higher band score, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and expanding your vocabulary to include more precise collocations related to environmental issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by grammatical errors. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and word order, such as 'Other believed that there are many indispendable challenging affect our society'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While the meaning is generally discernible, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is essential.
