Student answer (Band 5.5)
Ecosystem is an ultimate key for life on this globe. If any change happens in environment , it would damage the lifestyle of plants and animals in this planet. Unfortuntely in this present world as human civilization is on its peak of progress. They forgot to save the environment.
Unmeasurable smoke have thrown in the atmosphere by numerous industries , high traffic vechicles and crop burning. In the light of these problems many species of plants and animals are in danger. There remain only 150 Markhor in mountain ranges of Gilgit and Kashmir. It happened due to an massive spike in global warming. Different species of plants were erase due to non sustainable environmental conditions.
It is widely believe that are more crucial environmental issues than biodegradation. One of the major issue discuss is noise pollution and slums. Third word countries like Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh has around 20 % of their population lived in these slums. Major cause of noise pollution is the loud sound of traffic, music systems and construction site. To avoid it we should use public transport . Try to avoid an excess use of horns while driving. With these measures we could reduce these problems.
I would say that each environmental issue has its own importance. Each of it will be considered and solved separately. Our countries should appoint different companies and encourage public to take part in the reduction of these problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the discussion. The ideas are somewhat underdeveloped; for instance, the mention of 'noise pollution and slums' as a more important environmental problem than biodiversity loss is a valid point, but it is not sufficiently linked to the prompt's core environmental context. The conclusion is brief and lacks a strong summary of the arguments presented. To improve, you should expand on your reasoning and ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. For example, the transition between the first and second paragraph is abrupt. Some sentences lack logical flow, such as the shift from discussing species loss to noise pollution. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the connection between ideas within paragraphs could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast'). The paragraphing is present but the internal progression of ideas needs more refinement.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or awkward collocations, such as 'Unmeasurable smoke have thrown' (should be 'Immeasurable amounts of smoke have been emitted') and 'biodegradation' (which is used incorrectly to refer to biodiversity loss). Spelling errors like 'vechicles' and 'Unfortuntely' also detract from the quality. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and ensure you use words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Third word countries... has'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'Different species of plants were erase'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and tense consistency would be highly beneficial.
