Student answer (Band 5.0)
When we all mention about the environmental problems around us, the reasons lie in us at first. Our well-being depends on us mostly. In order to live a better harmonious life, we need to make sure that our earth is safe and free from all hazardous situations.
For the changes that happened for ages in this entire world are quite visible as we see a lot of species nowhere found now. The reason mainly narrates the massive changes of the climate. Environment pollutions also play a vital role to the weather of any particular regions. Our impulsive wastages and their dumping conditions are much worse than anything else.
The large amount of carbon emissions from vehicles, car, factories, industries cause a huge destruction to the level called "Ozen". This layer is getting thin day by day and can't control the level of the harmful UV rays. For this ray, the global warmth is increasing continuously. Our earth temperature is rising, so as the sea level alarmingly. These causes the consequences of the loss of many valuable species such as plants and animals.
Dinosaurs, the biggest animal in height, are by the time as a result of these environmental problems. Cycas is a plant that used to be one of the oldest plants are not found in recent times. They are now called living fossils. Most of them are not founded in all over they used to live. Our earth is being destroyed by most of us. But there are some natural disasters which man can't control. But we can less the damage by taking proper measures. We are the guardians of our earth and our future generations. Therefore, it's our responsibility to make our world safe and sound.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but lacks a clear, consistent position. While you mention that environmental problems are our responsibility, you do not explicitly discuss the two opposing views (that species loss is the main problem vs. other problems being more important) in a balanced way. The essay focuses heavily on general pollution and climate change rather than directly comparing the severity of species loss against other environmental issues. To improve, ensure you clearly outline both perspectives in the introduction and dedicate specific paragraphs to evaluating the arguments for each side before providing your own opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is sometimes disjointed. For example, the transition from discussing carbon emissions to the extinction of dinosaurs feels abrupt. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Therefore' and 'For this ray', the flow is occasionally mechanical or confusing. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'For this ray, the global warmth is increasing', where the connection to the previous point is not well-established. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some basic or inaccurate terms, such as 'impulsive wastages' and 'global warmth' (instead of 'global warming'). There are also issues with word choice, such as 'Ozen' (Ozone) and 'not founded' (not found). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to environmental science, such as 'biodiversity loss', 'greenhouse gas emissions', or 'ecological degradation', rather than relying on general or slightly misused terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the reasons lie in us at first', 'the biggest animal in height', and 'are not found in all over they used to live'. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic sentence construction and ensuring correct verb forms will significantly improve your accuracy.
