Student answer (Band 5.0)

Environmental problem causes loss of particular species of plants and animals or ore important environmental problems?

Loss of particular species of plants and animals is also an main character of environmental problem because if plants nd animals were not there then it would not complete an food chain that connects and make an food web. Animals also love their surroundings and more greenery to live.

Others environmental problems affects more as humans activity such as using air conditioning, cutting trees to make furniture, etc. this affects more than the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Due to humans only plants and animals affecting more.

If species of plants and animals will loss then it will impact on earth to solve this need not to cut trees and stop bulding houses were animal creature live. Because we re taking their place to live so they are not able to live.

Main problem is human we are destroing beauty of environment. Instead of correcting it need to stop doing it. By stop doing noise pollution, air pollution, etc. many other that are impacting to our surrounding. Due to that it is also affecting climatic change of weather.

In my opinion firstly need to work on human environmental problems. It is the only that affecting more if we stop that it will impact more. Then to automatically will improve in loss of species of plants and animals.

In conclusion, we all need to take care of our surroundings and to give information or knowledge to other people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is limited. While you identify the loss of species and human-driven environmental issues, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack specific examples or logical depth. For instance, the explanation of the food chain is simplistic, and the connection between human activity and species loss is stated rather than explained. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed reasoning and clearer evidence. The position is clear, but the overall task response is somewhat superficial, which limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps with structure, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas; for example, the transition between discussing species loss and human activity is abrupt. Some sentences are repetitive, and the use of referencing (e.g., 'this affects more') is occasionally unclear. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to create a smoother flow between your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'environmental problem', 'animals', and 'plants'. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'main character of environmental problem' and 'animal creature live'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should work on using more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and improve the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'others environmental problems affects'), article usage, and sentence structure (e.g., 'if plants nd animals were not there then it would not complete an food chain'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and reducing errors in tense and pluralization. Incorporating more complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses or conditional sentences, would also help.
