Student answer (Band 5.0)

There are many environmental

problem in our society. Some

says it is the loss of

particular species of plants

and animals. On the other

hand some says it isn't. There

are also many enivoronenviron-

mental problem exist.

Animals and plants are the most

important species in our

planet. Scientest has proved

that there are no planet

where there is a single

tree or plant. Maybe there

can be animals. Even animals

can't survive without

trees. How can Animals and

trees has made this plant

planet stable and blanced.

If they doesn dont exist

any longer Earth could

be collapsed. So we should

save them both. Day by

day wen both are losing of these two

species. are If we dont

stop this how we could be

can

in big trouble in coming

future. At the same time

some people things this is not

the main reason of

environmental problems. In

that case human are the

main reason. They are polluting

the water, the air, the mud

everything and making this

world toxic just for their

own profits. They dont even

know they are harming

themselves. Factories should

be continue but the waste

must be reduced or they

have to make work of it.

But At the end in my opinion

loss of particular species

of plants and animals are

much more dangerous than any

other thing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views regarding whether the loss of specific species is the main environmental problem or if other problems are more important, and the writer provides a clear personal opinion at the end. However, the ideas are relatively undeveloped and simplistic, lacking extended examples or deep analysis. Furthermore, the response suffers from a significant drawback in length, as it contains only 226 words, thereby failing to meet the minimum requirement of 250 words. This under-length impacts the overall fullness of task fulfillment, pulling the band score down into the lower range. While the core elements of the prompt are touched upon, the lack of thorough development and the length penalty constrain the task achievement score to a band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into rudimentary paragraphs, but the overall progression of ideas is disjointed and sometimes difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used very mechanically or are inaccurate, as seen in phrases like 'On the other hand some says it isn't' and 'At the same time some people things this is not'. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the paragraphing is awkward with several very short, broken lines and abrupt topic shifts. Although an overall structure of presenting two views and an opinion is attempted, the weak transitions and repetitive mechanical errors prevent the text from achieving higher than a band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by spelling errors and incorrect word choices. Examples include 'enivoronenviron-' and 'Scientest' instead of scientists, 'blanced' for balanced, and 'mud' instead of soil. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'toxic' and 'profits', but inaccuracies in word formation and collocation are common throughout the response. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for conveying very basic thoughts, but errors in spelling and word choice cause some strain and difficulty for the reader, aligning closely with a band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and error-prone attempts at complex constructions. Frequent grammatical errors occur, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Some says', 'human are the main reason', 'loss of particular species... are'), tense inconsistencies, and faulty word order ('how we could be can in big trouble'). Punctuation is also erratic. While some simple sentences are correct, errors are persistent throughout the response and frequently cause confusion, justifying a band 4.5.
