Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is generally believed that environmental issues are raising day by day. While a few masses think that major issue of today's time is extention of rare kinds of flora and funa, other people are believed that this is not a significant matter. I think that both sides have there own views which I will dicuss in the upcoming paragraphs.
Undoubtedly, It cannot be denied that specific variety of plants and animals are dispearing which are put an adverse impact on ecosystem. The predominant reason is that every plant and animal play cricual role to balance the ecosystem. For instance, Lion is king of forest who assist to control the population of animals which is necessay for enviroments as without doing this counting of animals inclines and it also increases the consumption of food sources for their survival. Therefore, maintaing eco chain people have to protect every rare species.
Nevertheless, there are some other essentail environmental problems. One of the key factor is that pollution is increasing which not only impact the environment by making ozne lyaer thiner but also rising many other chornic health issues. To illustrate, a survey conducted in London it was founded that pollution is become major enviromental matter as compared to other factors. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—the loss of specific flora and fauna versus other environmental problems—and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. Ideas are relevant, such as the mention of ecosystem balance and increasing pollution levels, but some points are somewhat under-developed and lack extended explanation. For example, the mention of ozone layer thinning and chronic health issues is introduced but not fully elaborated upon. Furthermore, minor over-generalisations occur, such as stating that 'pollution is become major enviromental matter'. Nevertheless, the main task requirements are met adequately, aligning well with the criteria for Band 6.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. For instance, transitional phrases like 'Undoubtedly, It cannot be denied that...' and 'One of the key factor is that...' demonstrate awkward transitions and referencing errors (e.g., 'this both problems' in the conclusion). Logical progression is present, but the overuse and misuse of certain cohesive devices pull the score down to Band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common words and phrases such as 'predominant reason', 'ecosystem', and 'contamination'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'extention' instead of 'extinction', 'funai' or 'funa' instead of 'fauna', 'dispearing', 'cricual', 'inclines' instead of 'increases', 'ozne lyaer thiner', 'chornic', and 'lossing'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect a limited and sometimes inaccurate range, placing the response firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some ambition with relative clauses ('which are put an adverse impact', 'which assist to control'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward structures, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('other people are believed that', 'pollution is become') and prepositional errors ('impact the environment by making...'). Punctuation and articles are also handled inconsistently. While communication is rarely impeded completely, the frequency of errors in basic and complex structures points to Band 5.
