Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent yaers, the concern for environment problems has created an intense debate among the people. Many individuals believe that the destruction of green land and animal extinction is the main ecological issue, whereas many other people argue that other environmental problems such as pollution, drainage, global warming, plastic waste and the greenhouse gases are more vital. Both arguments hold merits. I frmly believe that others problems has more effect on our environment as compared to the plants and animals loss. In this essay I will explain some reasons with relevant examples in order to support my opinion.
Proponents of the first view, those who concern that loss of plant and animal species is one of the most crucial problems are related about biodiversity. Every species plays an important role in natural cycle. The loss of paryicular types of plants and animals have a negative impact on earth. For instance, as we know from school, if honeybees disappea, there will not be a pollination process. Consequently, it affects food production.
On the other hand, proponents of the view that there are more significant problems we should care about such as water and air pollution, climate chnage and habitat destruction. These issues are driven by gas emissions. For instance, when people used more of their private vehicles instead of public transport, Cnsequently it result into bad impacts on enviormental air and this can also cause more respiratory diseases among people.
In concluson, both of these environmental problems are worth paying attention to each of them palys a role in every stage of biological process. I bleive that others environmental issues are important than planys and animals because it also has bad

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on environmental problems and clearly stating the writer's own opinion that pollution and global warming are more pressing than biodiversity loss. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and the conclusion trails off abruptly, leaving the final sentence incomplete ('...because it also has bad'). For instance, the discussion of honeybees and pollination is relevant, but the body paragraphs lack deep extension. These limitations place the performance at Band 6.0, as all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, but some areas feel under-developed and the conclusion is unfinished.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, introducing an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'On the other hand' and 'For instance'. However, there are noticeable cohesion and referencing issues, particularly in sentences like 'I frmly believe that others problems has more effect' and the abrupt ending. Paragraphing is generally appropriate, but the lack of completion in the final paragraph disrupts the overall flow. These features align closely with Band 6, where the text has a coherent arrangement and uses cohesive devices, but some mechanical faults and lack of clear progression at the very end are evident.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'biodiversity', 'greenhouse gases', and 'respiratory diseases'. However, there are frequent spelling errors ('yaers', 'frmly', 'paryicular', 'chnage', 'enviormental', 'bleive', 'planys') and occasional word choice/form inaccuracies (e.g., 'others problems', 'plants and animals loss'). Despite these errors, meaning is generally clear. Because the vocabulary range is adequate to convey the message despite noticeable spelling and word choice mistakes that do not severely impede communication, a Band 5.5 is awarded.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structures. Examples include conditional and relative structures like 'if honeybees disappea, there will not be a pollination process.' However, grammatical accuracy is significantly affected by frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('others problems has', 'each of them palys'), missing auxiliary verbs, and punctuation/capitalization slips. Furthermore, sentence fragments like 'Cnsequently it result into bad impacts' weaken control. Because the errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader—compounded by the incomplete final sentence—the grammar aligns with Band 5.0.
